Setting goals

Setting goals is critical to making quantifiable and directive progress in life. There are many reasons to set them with few, if any downsides. Among other things, goals provide focus, connect us to a greater purpose in life, help us achieve more and help us measure progress.

Being clear about who you are, your goals, and how you’re going to get there is critical. Having goals without systems in place to achieve them is pointless.

My approach helps you set clear goals that your unconscious mind can get on board with and your conscious mind and actions can execute. I do this using coaching techniques from NLP and contemporary thinkers in professional sports and apply them to business and personal situations.

Building Confidence

Self confidence is your belief in your ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish a task. It is not the same as self-esteem, which is an evaluation of your own worth.

Self confidence is so important as it drives success in so many facets of life, especially when combined with focussed goals. And given that our lives are an outcome of the decisions we’ve made, it’s critical that we have the self confidence to step up to make the best decisions in our favour going forward.

Using a range of techniques and processes, I can help you create self confidence by identifying what you’ve got to work with, building on that over time to go after what you really want in life.

It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from, I can help you incrementally up your game through coaching to help you achieve your short and long term goals with greater confidence.

Changing direction

It’s not uncommon today for people to have multiple careers in one lifetime. The world is changing rapidly and the opportunities come and go at a mind boggling speed.

My job is to help set you up for your next step, be it moving up the ladder to do more, achieve more and earn more, and creating a strategy for that. Maybe it’s about planning your move out of the corporate environment into something that’s more ‘you’. Potentially, you’re a creative doing an analytical job to pay the bills, or you’re involved in growing a business to the benefit of someone else.

Assuming there’s the potential of a commercial return to support yourself, doing what you love will serve you in the long run for general health and well being.

If you can establish what you love doing, and willingly spend your time on it, you’ll hone your skills, and people will come to you for a high quality service for which you can charge a premium.

Your CV

Having a clear and relevant CV is a critical first step to securing the right job. Often it’s difficult to extract the essence of roles and achievements so that it’s clear to the reader how good a fit you are for a given job.

I can help vet your CV, getting to the core of who you are, what you stand for and your key skill sets.

The job market is changing rapidly, not only in the type of work but how candidates are assessed for roles. LinkedIn, among others, for example runs an algorithmic bot searching for key words in CVs. Like crafting a website, it’s important to think about key words and how you construct your CV - as tightly as possible in relevance and space.

The same can be said for your cover letter. I can help you open the conversation with these initial communications so they work hand in hand.
